Happy New year! I wanted to pop a video up on my beginning pages in the New Journal I will be using this year! I am using a altered Composition Book and what I mean by altered, is I have glued pages together for durability and will be layering with junk journaling techniques! Anything goes! I have no idea what day the journal will end on but I plan to create a start up page for each month using one of my Large BBG (Big Brave Girl) Stickers. i created these and have them in my shop if anyone else is interested in using them in their journal too! She comes with coordinating numbers and days of the week! I hope you enjoy the video and are inspired to start your process!
January Quote: She Lives Life in her own Little Fairy Tale!
Hello January 2021 and Happy New Years! I remember as a kid, New Years Day was right up there with Christmas. We would celebrate the day with a BIG meal that included black eye peas and some years we would spend the night at my grandparents house at the lake. Today we will be eating a big meal with black eye peas, cabbage and a garlic herb meatloaf my husband makes. So good! Then I will begin the task of putting away the Christmas Decorations.
This year I actually feel I am ahead of schedule, my daughter and I set our planners up and created our vision boards last weekend. I added my One Little Word “Fairy Tale” Vision board to the beginning of my planner and made a copy for my journal. My board is full of ways to have a Fairy Tale life!
Keep an eye out over the next few days, I am going to be posting several videos: Kicking off January in my journal, continuing the “Journal Your Story” Video Series and having a flip though of my December Daily. I am sad to see Christmas go, but happy to start a fresh year with new adventures. Speaking of new adventures, have you seen the posts on IG and Facebook about the new CWR Sticker Club? Along with the monthly CWR Journal Kit I have started a CWR Sticker Club. I am going to have a blog post this weekend to tell you all about it!
Speaking of the CWR Kit, this Month’s journal kit is all about Valentines! I know, I know, nothing like moving from one holiday to the next! This kit is so adorable, it will have a vintage flair to it. The name is “Be Mine” and here is the star of the kit!
Another goal this year is to also BLOG a whole lot more, it’s so easy to post to IG and FB and be done but I am really wanting to post more about creativity, art and Journaling! Well, for now I am signing off but stay turned for upcoming blog posts and videos! Also, to welcome in the Winter months, I created a printable for you to download.
The “Journal Your
Story” Video Series is a way to kick off the New Year, with telling your
story. If you are a memory keeper, scrapbooker, journaler, photographer, or
social media queen… we all tell our story. I sometimes hear from others,
“I don’t have an interesting life and don’t know what to write or journal
about” Well, here are just a few questions you could write about: What is your weather? What do you like to eat?
What are your favorite clothes you like to wear? Are you reading anything? What
are your dreams? This is your story… and adding all the fluff…washi,
ribbon, ephemera, stickers.. is just a bonus!
Inside this past CWR kit there was a set of journaling cards (from the Vicki Boutin Paper Line) with “word prompts” In this video series I plan to use those words as prompts. In case you were unable to purchase the kit, here are the words so everyone can play along!!
December Quote: For it is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas, when it’s mighty founder was a child himself.~ Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol”
Hello December and Hello the most wonderful time of the year to be a kid again!! First things first… The next CWR kit will be available December 15th and the theme is “Journal Your Story” (Insert Happy Dance) Yes I think documenting the everyday…what you see, smell, taste, hear is not only important documentation but good for the soul! Here is the pair that will be the theme for the kit…
Now, let’s talk about an exciting new project I have had on my To Do list for a very long time….a 4 x 6 sticker book. This is using one of the inexpensive photo albums that you can pick up at Walmart and I’m sure at other stores. This little book will be in the December CWR kit! I have made a fun cover and a NEW sticker size to fit into this cute little sticker book:
Starting this month I will have a new sticker size in the CWR kit and when you purchase stickers alone. I plan to change all the stickers to this size. I still have the 7 x 3 size available in my shop BUT I am planning on having a bundle sticker sale to move those out and make room for the new size! Be sure to check mid- December for that sale.
Starting today, I am so excited to kick off my December Daily Journal! As I mentioned in the November newsletter I will be following Doodle prompts following #DOLLYSDOODLECHALLENGE and PHOTO PROMPTS (see below)
I am also going to be using my December Journal as just that..my journal for the month. In the past, I would typically used it as more of a memory book for the kids or like a scrapbook. As life changes and the kids grow older, I am finding different things to write and document. So it will be my December Daily and my day to day documentation that I would typically do in a separate journal. ANNNDDDD…. speaking of journals..I have FINALLY made my decision on the journals I plan to use for 2021. A basic Composition book…but you know it won’t be basic. I still plan to add all the things to JUNK it up! A video will be coming soon!
Looking ahead into next year, I am going to be hosting an in person CAMP WONDERLAND. The overnight spots are full, but we still have DAY CAMP space open. This will include SATURDAY all day full of creating, lunch and FUN! There is hotels near by and Air BNB’s if you need a place to stay. Junk Gypsy is right down the road! to Sign up check out Craft Destinations website.
Well you guys, I hope you can make this time of the year as MAGICAL as can be! To help you with this, I have a fun PRINTABLE for you.. My Christmas Tree Girls as Tags. Print out, cut and add fun ribbon or tulle. I plan on using these cuties for neighbor gifts I plan to give.
Hello an Happy almost December! Believe me, I am not rushing time BUT I am excited to start documenting in my December Daily Journal. In this video I’m creating a page to document the Christmas Tea we had a couple of weeks ago and creating a page for the Christmas Planning I have added to the back of my DD journal. I am also answering the questions I received on my Instagram. Thank you for them, it was fun to answer. See you in my next video!
The “Hark” CWR Kit was inspired by a childhood photos of my mom. When she was a child, she and her siblings would have a Christmas performance for her grandparents. Oh how I wish I could have been a fly on the wall to see my mom. She dressed as an angel. I absolutely love the photo and wanted to create a kit around it, what better way then to have a kit themed around Jesus’ birth. I wanted to create a kit for you that brought out the true meaning of Christmas with Angels of a heavenly Host to urge “Peace on Earth”and good will towards men.
I hope this kit brings you peace and love for the most wonderful time of the year.
Hello! After a bit of technical difficulties I was able to create a short video of the Christmas Tea Table Setting and use Voice Over! This Ole Gal is figuring this video editing out! The questions that you asked over on Instagram will be answered in another video soon! Thanks for such an MAGICAL week of creating with me! There is no “being behind” on these projects, they can be created anytime! Merry Christmas!
Hello! Today is the final day for the Creative Christmas Series and we are going to have a Christmas Tea. This will be a two part video. The first video I am making DIY Faux Christmas Crackers to include in the little gifts I will be giving our guests and I show a little sneak peek into how I plan and my paper copy of Pinterest. So I’m off to make cookies, put on Christmas Music and finishing setting the table. We have guests coming! Rebecca
This fun little project is just plain FUN! We all have heard of the Ugly Christmas Sweater, well how about adding a Gaudy Christmas Pin to the mix! They make a great conversation piece. The fun thing about this project you can make them what ever color you like to fit with your party outfit! For example the first half of this video is creating a traditional red and green with a touch of blue brooch. The second half is making one for my daughter which she wanted all red. The one I made for myself is pink and candy themed! So many possibilities! What will you make for yourself?
I have made so many of the felt star shaped Santas. The first time I made them I was a stay at home mom with my son. I was watching HGTV everyday, remember when it was all crafting and food? So I was one crafty babe and decided to make all felt ornaments for the Christmas tree. I want to include this story in my December Journal so I also made a Santa without the stuffing. Can’t wait to see what you create, be sure to tag me at #CWRCREATIVECHRISTMAS
I have put together a template to help with the Santa Shapes, you can print it here:
