January One Little Word Update

Wow, I can’t believe it is already the middle of January,  2017 is just moving right along.  I have found the beginning of January  to be so busy with college applications for my son, science fair project for my daughter and just taking Christmas decorations was quite a chore. So it took me a while to find quiet time to sit and think about my word and what I want to see from my word this year. The January prompt for One Little Word took a bit of time to complete, but I think it was necessary to really take in my word and see what CHANGES I want to make with my word. I have put together a flip through video to show how I  am using a Traveler’s Notebook for my One Little Word prompts.

One Little Word 2017

Hello and Happy New Year’s Eve!!! I have participated in Ali’ Edward’s One Little Word for almost five years. I started in 2011 and have been a true believer in selecting a word and having it with you throughout the year. Here are the words I have selected in the past:
2011-Faith
2012-Create
2013 (skipped this year)
2014-Perseverance
2015-Courage
2016-Cultivate
And for 2017-Change
In this video I show you past set-ups and my current set-up using my Webster Traveler’s Notebook.

Christmas Planning ~ DIY

It’s actually past that time of the year that I have most of my plans down on paper and in my Christmas Planner. I always feel that Christmas really gets in full swing after Halloween and I’m picking up gifts here and there and talking about what we want for Christmas Dinner. Last minute shopping seems like a nightmare so I typically like have at least fifty percent done by Thanksgiving! I look forward to the holidays to slow down, decorate and make memories plus tis the season to be crafty so I want to make sure I have plenty of time for that! I have created a quick video to show you how I use my  Christmas Planner.  My planner is created using a spiral bound notebook, pretty papers , washi and stickers. Simple yet efficient! I created a quick video to show how simple it is to create your own set-up that will work for you. Let the Merry Making begin!

December Daily 2016 Set-Up

After much debating on what color, size and style I wanted to use this year for December Daily, I have finally made a decision! I am going to be using a 4×4 We R memory Keepers album. This little album fits the 4 x 4 square photos taken on Instagram perfectly! Plus I can add and take away easily and use the provided sheet protectors or not. I think it’s very versatile plus it’s small enough to still be able to tell our story and not be overwhelmed! I have created a video to show you my set-up and my I created my title page! I am loving the color scheme I have chosen… all bright colors! Very non-traditional but so whimsical! I would love to hear what you have chosen for your December Daily!

December Daily of Christmas Past

Hello! Can you believe it!?! Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away which means the Christmas Season is upon us!! One of my favorite traditions is documenting memories and creating a December Daily Album. Last night I decided to look into the past to see how I approached each year and ways to make documenting this year successful. What I found was quite surprising! I totally forgot I hadn’t finished 2014 and 2015. Luckily I have the photos printed, I just need to glue them in, journal and embellish. This task is definitely on my to-do list! I also learned last year I created foundation pages and I still didn’t  “Keep Up’ like I thought I would. I plan on working on my album this week, setting it up, and getting it ready. I think the key is having supplies handy and idea of what design you want your album to be. I don’t think I will be creating a large album and my thought process is either a traveler’s notebook or a “One Ring” Flip album.
I have put together a video to show my albums and how I documented each year, so glad I looked through these it has given me such insight for next year!
