Hello April! Times seems to be flying by and I hope you are having FUN! March came and went in a whirlwind and here we are approaching another busy month. I am in full swing in preparing for CAMP WONDERLAND! My daughter has to reign me in because as a creative person my mind is always thinking of something new to create. I need to focus on getting my to do list done first. I can’t help it, I’m a creative person and want to do all the things!! First up, I created a quick video to show my April Introduction page in my creative journal. Taking a different approach and narrowing down it down to two pages instead of four..
So lets talk what is in store for April in the CWR World! Let me introduce you to the star of the Upcoming CWR Journal Kit… She has a green thumb and she all things green and leafy bring her joy… Plant Lady!
Taking a leap out of the atrium and into the magical forest, the CWR Sticker club stickers are all about a Magical Forest where there is fairies, bears, deer and foxes… all in party hats..oh my!
Also for the month of April, I will be participating in Ali Edward’s photo adventure: This starts on Monday, April 5th. I did this last year and it will be something I will add to my daily journal.
I will also be joining many of my friends and family in the 100 Days of Prayer. My book should be arriving today and I plan to purchase Kelly Bang’s Printables when they become available on April 5, 2021. It’s going to be a busy beginning of the month!
Before I close, I always like to share something with you so you can get creative. I have used this adorable Paper Doll in my journals and have asked to share the image, so here you go! I have included lots of Spring outfits for her to wear too!
February Quote: Steady as a Clock, Busy as a Bee, and cheerful as a cricket~ Martha Washington
Hello and Welcome to the Creative Hoot’s February Newsletter! Welcoming this month of LOVE with open arms, I know many are still suffering and I continue to pray for my family, neighbors, and friends all over the world. In the meantime, I will look for the fairies and dream of brighter days ahead.
This past month was filled with a snow, yes snow, which is very rare in my part of Texas, we enjoyed it so much. I loved watching it come down while staying cozy inside the house.
Brazos made a teeny tiny little snowman and took moments to enjoy every last minute until darkness came. We knew by morning it would all be melted away.
Also, this past month we begin our Valentine celebration! Last month I coordinated a Valentine Card Swap. More to come on that… I plan to write a more detailed blog post on the fun we are having with our inner child and bring back all the feels of a Valentine Party! Just a little sneak Peek of the “Inner Child Valentine Box” I made. I have a video on how it was created. You can find it here.
Looking ahead, I am so excited for the next CWR Journal Kit! If you love cute little bees, then this kit will be for you! Introducing the star of the kit, “Ms. Bee” My sister sent me the meaning behind the name “Bee” it means “she who brings happiness” I think this little sweetheart will bring lots of happiness to your heart! As I say with every kit, but I truly mean it… this one was so fun to put together!!
The February BBG (Big Brave Girl) Stickers are available now in the shop, I really loved using the numbers and days of the week in my Journaling.
The Sticker Club is in Full Swing as well! I have had so much fun putting the Welcoming kits together and sending them out! If you are interested in becoming a member, I now have a “purchase’ that can be made for the next month. You will receive the Welcome Kit and that month’s stickers. Then I will automatically bill through Paypal. Please feel free to contact me with questions.
Looking forward to a month of hearts, well and to be honest I live the whole year with hearts and stars, but this is a bonus month! I leave you with a fun little coloring page, print her out, color and use in your journal or on cards. I’ll be creating a video on Instagram and Facebook to show you the medium I use. Happy Coloring!
January Quote: She Lives Life in her own Little Fairy Tale!
Hello January 2021 and Happy New Years! I remember as a kid, New Years Day was right up there with Christmas. We would celebrate the day with a BIG meal that included black eye peas and some years we would spend the night at my grandparents house at the lake. Today we will be eating a big meal with black eye peas, cabbage and a garlic herb meatloaf my husband makes. So good! Then I will begin the task of putting away the Christmas Decorations.
This year I actually feel I am ahead of schedule, my daughter and I set our planners up and created our vision boards last weekend. I added my One Little Word “Fairy Tale” Vision board to the beginning of my planner and made a copy for my journal. My board is full of ways to have a Fairy Tale life!
Keep an eye out over the next few days, I am going to be posting several videos: Kicking off January in my journal, continuing the “Journal Your Story” Video Series and having a flip though of my December Daily. I am sad to see Christmas go, but happy to start a fresh year with new adventures. Speaking of new adventures, have you seen the posts on IG and Facebook about the new CWR Sticker Club? Along with the monthly CWR Journal Kit I have started a CWR Sticker Club. I am going to have a blog post this weekend to tell you all about it!
Speaking of the CWR Kit, this Month’s journal kit is all about Valentines! I know, I know, nothing like moving from one holiday to the next! This kit is so adorable, it will have a vintage flair to it. The name is “Be Mine” and here is the star of the kit!
Another goal this year is to also BLOG a whole lot more, it’s so easy to post to IG and FB and be done but I am really wanting to post more about creativity, art and Journaling! Well, for now I am signing off but stay turned for upcoming blog posts and videos! Also, to welcome in the Winter months, I created a printable for you to download.
December Quote: For it is good to be children sometimes, and never better than at Christmas, when it’s mighty founder was a child himself.~ Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol”
Hello December and Hello the most wonderful time of the year to be a kid again!! First things first… The next CWR kit will be available December 15th and the theme is “Journal Your Story” (Insert Happy Dance) Yes I think documenting the everyday…what you see, smell, taste, hear is not only important documentation but good for the soul! Here is the pair that will be the theme for the kit…
Now, let’s talk about an exciting new project I have had on my To Do list for a very long time….a 4 x 6 sticker book. This is using one of the inexpensive photo albums that you can pick up at Walmart and I’m sure at other stores. This little book will be in the December CWR kit! I have made a fun cover and a NEW sticker size to fit into this cute little sticker book:
Starting this month I will have a new sticker size in the CWR kit and when you purchase stickers alone. I plan to change all the stickers to this size. I still have the 7 x 3 size available in my shop BUT I am planning on having a bundle sticker sale to move those out and make room for the new size! Be sure to check mid- December for that sale.
Starting today, I am so excited to kick off my December Daily Journal! As I mentioned in the November newsletter I will be following Doodle prompts following #DOLLYSDOODLECHALLENGE and PHOTO PROMPTS (see below)
I am also going to be using my December Journal as just that..my journal for the month. In the past, I would typically used it as more of a memory book for the kids or like a scrapbook. As life changes and the kids grow older, I am finding different things to write and document. So it will be my December Daily and my day to day documentation that I would typically do in a separate journal. ANNNDDDD…. speaking of journals..I have FINALLY made my decision on the journals I plan to use for 2021. A basic Composition book…but you know it won’t be basic. I still plan to add all the things to JUNK it up! A video will be coming soon!
Looking ahead into next year, I am going to be hosting an in person CAMP WONDERLAND. The overnight spots are full, but we still have DAY CAMP space open. This will include SATURDAY all day full of creating, lunch and FUN! There is hotels near by and Air BNB’s if you need a place to stay. Junk Gypsy is right down the road! to Sign up check out Craft Destinations website.
Well you guys, I hope you can make this time of the year as MAGICAL as can be! To help you with this, I have a fun PRINTABLE for you.. My Christmas Tree Girls as Tags. Print out, cut and add fun ribbon or tulle. I plan on using these cuties for neighbor gifts I plan to give.
November Quote: I am Grateful for what I am and have. My Thanksgiving is perpetual.
Hello November! Wow this season has just been zooming by..I’m afraid the upcoming months will be bittersweet. Here we are in the most wonderful time of the year but still dealing with the Covid Virus. One of my favorite things about this time of the year is getting together with family for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, this year we have decided to not gather for Thanksgiving. I would rather have many more holidays with my parents and by pass this one year. Although, I miss them dearly! So wish me LUCK in preparing a DINNER for just us which will include turkey, trimmings and home made rolls.
Now on a more positive note, I am so looking forward to the Creative Christmas Video Series! It will start Saturday, November 7th! Print the schedule and supply list here:
The CWR (Create with Rebecca) Kit was switched up in October. I had originally had “Hark” scheduled but after a few emails (I appreciate everyone’s feedback) I switched the kit to “Baking up Joy” and “Hark” will not be released this month on November 8th.
I have began my December Daily Journal and will be creating a blog post and You Tube video to show you the content. I plan to document a little differently this year. I plan to add daily doodles and photos following these list of prompts. The December Daily is one of my FAVORITE projects!
Shop Update: New Stickers, prints and postcards are coming to the shop! Be sure to watch Instagram and Facebook for updates!
I wanted to offer a printable for November, so I created a page of words and a few drawings that can be cut out and used in your journals or notebooks!
Hello and Happy almost Easter! One of my most cherished possessions is a box full of my great grandmother’s postcards when she use to write her friends and sister. They are all dated from the early 1900’s. I can’t tell you how many times I have flipped through them. I love the graphics and stories they tell. I wanted to share a few of my Easter favorites with you to be able to print out and use as stationery or in your journals/ planners!
February is right around the corner with all it’s pinks, reds, hearts and of course chocolate. Growing up I LOVED February for just this reason… Valentines Day. I can still see a visual of me sitting on the bus with my box of valentines ready to be handed out to my classmates. I also remember making valentine boxes out of shoeboxes and paper plates and hang for all your friends to fill with cards. Then I became a teenager and a young adult and experienced having a NON-romantic boyfriend during Valentines and I remember breaking up with this boyfriend because he did absolutely NOTHING for this special date meant for LOVE. I also remember working in an office environment feeling less love because everyone else in the office received a large bouquet of flowers and my desk sat blah with NO flowers, chocolate or love notes. Now that I’m older and wiser (wink, wink) I do not put so much emphases on receiving Valentines to make me feel important or loved. Now, I enjoy the hearts and all the pinks and reds for the fun and LOVE of it all. So in the midst of the season to spread love I wanted to share one of my girls “Love Letters” with you. Print on sticker sheet or cardstock and cut! ENJOY!! Happy February! Happy Hearts and Happy Valentines Day! ~ Rebecca Hoot
